Friday 13 June 2025 Aldridge Students Win Big at Health Skills Challenge On Thursday 12th June 2025, a group of students from Aldridge School took part in the Health Skills Challenge at Staffordshire University – a brilliant opportunity to explore careers in health and social care, get a feel for university life, and take on some exciting team challenges. The students were accompanied by Mrs Littler and Miss Begum.

Wednesday 11 June 2025 Year 10 In-Comm Visit Following an in school STEM taster day, a group of Year 10 students went to In-Comm Training Provider in Aldridge to take part in some other STEM actitivies. The students were given the opportunity to explore the site and get an insight into the different companies that send their apprentices to In-Comm, as well as some of the apprenticeship jobs on offer.

Friday 6 June 2025 Aldridge School Students Shine with Jorja Smith and Blue Lights Choir Aldridge School’s talented ex-pupil and music scholar, Jorja Smith, delivered an unforgettable performance at The Halls in Wolverhampton on Saturday night, playing to a sold-out crowd. A special highlight of the evening was when the Blue Lights choir joined her on stage to sing several songs together.

Friday 16 May 2025 Year 10 In-Comm STEM Workshop May 2025 Leanne Mee delivered a STEM workshop on behalf of In-Comm to another group of Year 10 students. After a talk about apprenticeships and job roles available through In-Comm and their supporting companies, students were set the challenge of building a mechanical device to move as many ping pong balls 200mm within 10 seconds.

Tuesday 8 April 2025 Rushall Primary School Visit On Thursday 3rd April, Aldridge School welcomed Year 6s from Rushall Primary School to experience what life is like in a secondary school before they make the big step up in September.

Tuesday 1 April 2025 Inter House Dance Festival The Inter-house Dance Festival commenced on Tuesday 1st April 2025. The dancers were welcomed by the Year 7 audience in which they to rallied behind their house which encouraged a sense of unity and belonging to everyone involved. The dancers had been working for weeks to prepare their dance routines, learning to collaborate, communicate and support each other. This competition provides a platform for students to express their creativity and artistic talents through dance, encouraging them to explore different styles and techniques in relation to this year’s theme ‘Fairy Tales’. Each house took on the theme and interpreted it into some great choreography. The audience saw classical and modern interpretations of fairy tales as well as depictions of emotions and feelings fairy tales create. There were Witches, Dragons and Mermaids performing in a variety of styles such as Ballroom, Irish and Martial Arts Dancing. The event also had a special performance from

Whether you have a pair that no longer fits or simply don’t need them anymore, we’re here to make sure they go to good use.

Wednesday 26 March 2025 Red Nose Day 2025 On Friday 21st March, Aldridge School celebrated Red Nose Day by raising money for Comic Relief. It was wonderful to see so many students wearing red to school and donating money to such a good cause. Students also had the chance to take part in a "Guess the teacher from their baby photo" competition, which generated lots of laughs and further donations.

Thursday 27 February 2025 Ski-Trip - Les Deux Alpes Last week saw 38 students in Year 10 and Year 11 and 5 members of staff jet off to Les Deux Alpes for a lovely ski trip during February half term. The very early morning start meant students had to be back at school and waiting for the arrival of the coach before 1am on Saturday morning. All students were eager and ready to go and were superb on the journey to and through Manchester airport and during the delay at Lyon airport. Through windy roads we made our way to the resort. A discussion as to whether a bird was a chicken, ostrich, turkey or peacock was the sign we were nearly in resort which was a blessing for those students who were struggling with the roads.

Friday 14 February 2025 Careers Event - Year 10 In-Comm Trip celebrating National Apprenticeships Week 2025 To celebrate National Apprenticeships Week a group of Year 10 students went to In-Comm Training Provider in Aldridge to take part in a STEM activity day. The students were given the opportunity to explore the site and get an insight into the different companies that send their apprentices to In-Comm, as well as some of the apprenticeship jobs on offer. They had a talk from Brandauer about the roles their apprentices have and the progression routes they offer before seeing some of the apprentices from a variety of companies carrying out their education.

Wednesday 12 February 2025 Walsall Schools Boccia competition On 6th February, a group of 12 enthusiastic pupils from Year 7, 8 and 9, had the opportunity to take part in the Walsall Schools Boccia competition, where they competed against other schools from the local area. Boccia is a paralympic sport, which is very similar to bowls. Although the game is usually played in a wheelchair, our pupils participated seated on a chair.
