Reading Took Centre Stage! – World Book Day 2026 at Aldridge School
Aldridge School buzzed with creativity and book‑loving energy as we celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 5th March 2026. Every year group took part in vibrant, imaginative activities, turning Form Time into a celebration of stories, ideas and the joy of reading.
Years 7 and 8 became budding authors and illustrators, creating their own Mini Books complete with front covers, opening pages and blurbs. Noah S, a Year 7 student, commented: “World Book Day was so much fun! I loved making my Mini Book — it felt like I was creating a real story of my own. I can’t wait for everyone to see it in the library!”
Year 9 explored meaningful reading memories through “Writes of Passage”, sharing reflections on books that shaped or inspired them. Their thoughtful contributions sparked lively discussion and genuine curiosity among peers. Meanwhile, Years 10–13 impressed with their enthusiasm during “Book Babble”, delivering persuasive and creative book pitches.
With storytelling, creativity and reading at the heart of the day, World Book Day 2026 proved to be an inspiring and uplifting celebration for our whole school community.
