Tuesday 19 November 2024 Careers Fair 2024 An incredible careers experience was offered to all year groups on Tuesday 12th November. Throughout the day, all year groups visited the Careers Fair and some of the 35 stands.

Monday 11 November 2024 Remembrance Parade and Service Headteacher, Mr Worth, along with Head Boy M. Carter, Head Girl E. Biddle and two Year 7 Students, D. Parsons and J. Done participated in the Aldridge Remembrance Parade and Service on Sunday 10th November 2024 and laid a wreath on behalf of the school.

Friday 11 October 2024 Visit from Wendy Morton MP Year 11 students invited Wendy Morton MP into school on Friday 11th October to interview her as part of their Citizenship coursework studies. They questioned her on local crime and female equality in Parliament, an excellent afternoon where they were able to talk to the elected representative for Aldridge and Brownhills; whilst also voicing their opinions on these subjects.

Wednesday 9 October 2024 Pedestrian Safety Performance & Workshop Year 7 took place in a Pedestrian Safety performance and workshop on Wednesday 9th October called 'Streetwise' which is provided by Walsall Council. An engaging performance to stress key messages about being safe when navigating the road; a great time was had by all.

Tuesday 24 September 2024 Careers Event - HS2 STEM Event Selected Year 8 students were chosen to take part in a STEM event run by Andy Bruno from the Smallpeice Trust on behalf of HS2. We were incredibly lucky to also have the support of STEM Ambassador Andrew Clayton from Morgan Sindall.

Friday 19 July 2024 Sports Day A big well done to the participants who competed in sports day. There were some outstanding performances with 6 new School records being set in a variety of track and field events! Huge congratulations to Linley House who led by Mr Heeley, won the boys, girls and overall competitions and collected the maximum 200 points.

Thursday 18 July 2024 Sixth Form Wear Pink for Cancer Research Year 12 were busy raising money for Cancer Research yesterday. They held a 'pink' day. Can you spot the student wearing the most pink? Mrs Elton came a close second.

Thursday 20 June 2024 Year 7 Royal Navy Helicopter Workshop Year 7 have been taking part in a Royal Navy workshop this week. They have been learning all about the Royal Navy and helicopters. The Royal Navy spoke about their careers before pupils started building their own paper helicopters and engineering them to stay in the air longer. The sessions ended with the students competing against each other to see who had managed to produce the most successful helicopter, determined by which one stayed in the air the longest. Special prizes were also awarded to those who had shown creativity in their designs and excellent engineering skills.

Thursday 20 June 2024 Year 9 Alternative Work Experience Day Year 9 took part in an ‘Alternative Work Experience’ day, in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority and Urban Hax, looking at the regeneration of the Guildhall in Walsall town centre. Students were informed of the regeneration project taking place at the Guildhall and what the space will become. Students were set the task of coming up with a product which could be created and sold in one of the creative spaces Urban Hax are ultimately creating in the Guildhall, but in the short term in the ‘Meanwhile’ in the Sadlers Centre in Walsall.

Thursday 20 June 2024 Students at Aldridge School shadow the Yoto Carnegie Medal A group of avid readers in Year 8 have been very busy over the past few months reading, discussing, reviewing, and voting on the eight titles shortlisted for the Yoto Carnegie Medal. As part of the shadowing, students explored the criteria used by judges to select a book of outstanding literary quality.

Wednesday 12 June 2024 BCU Health Practitioners Workshop - Year 10 Aldridge students were given a talk on the wide range of occupations within the field of health, such as physiotherapy, radiography and paramedics. Then they were able to actually experience some of the equipment used to train healthcare workers. CPR dummies, stethoscopes and even a laparoscopy machine were brought in for students to use and demonstrate their skills.
