Aldridge Students Win Big at Health Skills Challenge

On Thursday 12th June 2025, a group of students from Aldridge School took part in the Health Skills Challenge at Staffordshire University – a brilliant opportunity to explore careers in health and social care, get a feel for university life, and take on some exciting team challenges. The students were accompanied by Mrs Littler and Miss Begum.

Our students were split into two teams:
Group 1 – M. Ali, J. Gill, T. Kalhwan, J. Kouser, I. Mahmood, S. Malik, S. Naseem, S. Naseem, and A. Sarder.
Group 2 – E. Ahmed, L. Ahmed, A. Chamberlain, N. Leonard, S. Morris, F. Obassa, T. Parker, J. Rich, and A. Sahar.

Both groups took part in a range of activities throughout the day, including a “Dragon’s Den” style pitch where they had to present a life-saving airway device, a communication challenge in a realistic healthcare scenario, and sessions exploring different roles in the health sector.

We’re thrilled to share that both of our teams placed in the top three. Group 1 came third, taking home a certificate and trophy, while Group 2 came first, earning a certificate, trophy and gift vouchers. A huge well done to everyone involved!

Special mention goes to A. Sarder and N. Leonard, who were singled out during the award ceremony for their excellent work in the Service User Support session and received gift vouchers as an extra reward.

The students represented Aldridge School brilliantly throughout the day, with lots of positive feedback from university staff and organisers. One student even left the event with a brand-new career goal after being inspired by what they learned.

We are incredibly proud of how our students conducted themselves, worked together, and embraced every part of the experience. They were a credit to our school.
