Aldridge Students Honoured in National 'Poetry By Heart' Celebration

At Aldridge School, we believe in nurturing confidence, creativity, and a love for literature; all of which were on display in this year’s “Poetry By Heart” competition. Our students recently received well-deserved certificates of achievement, each accompanied by personalised feedback from national judges who were impressed by their thoughtful interpretations and powerful performances.

The feedback our students received was a standout moment; not only recognising their efforts, but also offering tailored comments that highlighted their strengths and potential. From confident delivery to sensitive interpretation, our students were celebrated for bringing poetry to life in their own unique voices.

Mrs Kaur, School Librarian, shared, “It’s been wonderful to see how our students have connected with poetry in such a meaningful way. The feedback they received was fantastic, and it has really boosted their confidence and love for poetry.”

J Clements, student from Year 10, added, “At first, I was nervous about performing, but learning the poem by heart helped me understand it in a completely new way. Getting very positive feedback from the judges made me feel proud of my achievement.”
