High Grades, Bright Futures and Exciting New Adventures for Aldridge Students
Students, families and staff at Aldridge School are celebrating today as the Class of 2026 received their A Level and Level 3 results and prepared to embark on the next stage of their journeys.
This year's results reflect not only academic achievement, but also the character, resilience and ambition of a year group that has made a significant contribution to school life. Across the cohort, students are now progressing to an impressive range of destinations, including Russell Group universities, degree apprenticeships and highly competitive professional pathways. More than half of all students have secured university places, representing a significant increase on last year, while the number progressing to Russell Group universities has also risen substantially.
There was much to celebrate academically, with strong improvements in several key performance measures. The proportion of top grades increased significantly, with A* and A grades rising to 14.2% of all outcomes, up from 10.2% last year. The proportion of students achieving A-B grades also increased, while vocational qualifications continued to deliver strong outcomes across the cohort, reflecting the breadth of academic and technical success achieved by students this year.
Among the many success stories was Ruben Flinders, who achieved A* grades in Chemistry and Physics alongside an A in Mathematics and will begin a finance apprenticeship in London while studying towards the prestigious ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) qualification. Colin Gosieniecki achieved an outstanding A* in Psychology and A grades in Mathematics and Physics before progressing into a Civil Engineering apprenticeship.
Several students secured places at leading universities across the country. Jovanni Sweeney achieved A grades in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics and will progress to the University of Bath to study Civil Engineering. Lauren Finch will continue her passion for the arts at the University of Birmingham after achieving grades A, B and A in Music, Music Technology and Sociology respectively. Molly O'Brien will study Sociology at the University of Liverpool following excellent results in Psychology, Sociology and Government and Politics.
There were also outstanding examples of students combining academic success with ambitious career aspirations. Maddison Pugh secured a degree apprenticeship with Kier Construction in Construction Management, while Prabhsharan Singh will begin a Cyber Security degree at Aston University. Mohamed Salama achieved an impressive set of science results, including an A* in Chemistry, demonstrating the breadth of talent within the cohort.
Reflecting on the 2026 results, Headteacher Mr Worth said:
"Today is about much more than examination grades. It is about celebrating a remarkable group of young people and recognising the journeys they have been on during their time at Aldridge School.
We are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved. Many have secured places at university, degree apprenticeships and exciting employment opportunities, and it is wonderful to see so many of them progressing to destinations that reflect their talents, interests and ambitions.
What stands out most about this year group is the sense of community they have created. They have supported one another, contributed positively to school life and represented Aldridge with pride. These results are the product of years of hard work from students, staff and families working together.
As they leave us to begin the next chapter of their lives, we wish every member of the Class of 2026 every success. They will always remain a valued part of the Aldridge community."
As one chapter closes, another begins. Whether studying at university, taking up apprenticeships, entering employment or pursuing further training, the Class of 2026 leaves Aldridge School equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed. The entire school community congratulates them on their achievements and looks forward to following their future successes.
