National Careers Week Yr 10 Assembly

As part of Aldridge School’s celebrations for National Careers Week, Year 10 pupils continued to benefit from a wide range of visitors sharing insights into their professional journeys and pathways available for our students.
On Thursday morning, students heard from Rose Rees of Midland Metro, who provided an engaging and informative session on the local labour market and the opportunities available within the region. She highlighted how different careers can take individuals across the world and discussed the range of apprenticeships on offer, including guidance on where and how to apply.
Rose also explained what TLevels are and outlined the progression routes open to young people. She broadened pupils’ understanding of the construction industry by showcasing not only traditional roles but also lesser known positions found on construction sites—such as healthcare roles like nursing. Her session included inspiring stories of current apprentices and TLevel students, illustrating the diverse career paths that can grow from these opportunities.
Aldridge School extends its thanks to Rose Rees and Midland Metro for supporting National Careers Week and helping students explore the wide variety of careers and pathways available to them.
