Year 10 Students Get a Taste of University Life at BCU Accelerate Summer School
A group of selected Year 10 students had the exciting opportunity to experience university life firsthand during the annual Birmingham City University Accelerate Summer School, held from Tuesday 9th to Wednesday 10th July.
The two-day event was designed to give students a real taste of what it’s like to study at university. Participants stayed overnight in university halls of residence, took part in a lively quiz night, and spent a full day immersed in the Computer Games lab, where they used industry-standard technology to create graphics for computer games.
The experience proved to be both educational and inspiring. Students expressed how the summer school opened their eyes to the possibilities that further education can offer. Many came away with a renewed sense of motivation and a clearer vision for their future academic and career paths.
Events like the BCU Accelerate Summer School play a vital role in helping young people make informed decisions about their futures, while also building confidence and ambition.
