Futures First Transition - Careers Event
Selected Year 7 students recently took part in an engaging and inspiring Future First event, designed to help them explore their future aspirations and understand the skills needed to achieve their goals.
The event brought together 160 students, who had the opportunity to hear from professionals working in a range of industries. The speakers shared their career journeys, experiences, and insights into the world of work, helping students to see the many pathways available to them in the future.
Throughout the session, students explored what employability skills are and why they are important. They reflected on the skills they already possess and considered how these qualities can help them both in school and beyond.
Students then turned their attention to goal setting, identifying personal targets they would like to achieve by the end of Year 7. They discussed the practical steps they would need to take to reach these goals, encouraging them to think positively about their progress and future ambitions.
The event was an excellent opportunity for students to develop their confidence, broaden their understanding of different careers, and recognise the importance of planning for the future.
A huge thank you to Future First for providing this valuable opportunity and for inspiring our students to think ambitiously about their futures.
