Dunfield House Music Residential Strikes a Chord
Last week, the Aldridge School Music department took 57 students from Year 7 - 13 to Dunfield House in Herefordshire to take part in a 3-day Music-making course. Students rehearsed in many different ensembles such as orchestras, jazz and wind bands, folk band, vocal groups, guitar groups and small ensembles led by dedicated Music staff and instrumental teachers.
After three days of hard work, there was a showcase of all the fantastic music that had been rehearsed, and the talent on show was exceptional. Between rehearsals pupils also had time swim, play football, build damns in the stream and play games in the woods. On the last night everyone finished the course with a campfire, songs and toasting marshmallows.
All students conducted themselves brilliantly and were a credit to the school. Much of the music produced will be performed at the annual autumn concert on October 21st in Whitman hall (further details to follow).
