Employability Skills by the Army - Careers
Year 9 students had an exciting and inspiring morning at a careers event hosted by the Army, where they developed essential employability skills including teamwork, leadership, and communication.
The day began with an engaging presentation that introduced students to a wide range of roles within the Army—some of which they may not have expected, such as veterinary careers. The session also explored various career pathways available through Army service, broadening students’ understanding of future opportunities.
Following the presentation, students headed to the field for a series of hands-on activities designed to challenge and develop key skills. These included:
- A teamwork game to foster collaboration
- A STEM challenge to encourage innovation and critical thinking
- A reaction time activity to test focus and agility
- A logic puzzle involving tyre movement to promote strategic thinking
- An equipment showcase where students could learn about and try out Army gear
These activities highlighted the importance of problem-solving, perseverance, and leadership—skills that are valuable in any career path.
A huge thank you to the Army volunteers who generously gave their time to run the event and support our students in their journey toward future success.
