Virtual Work Experience
At Aldridge School, we are proud to offer a comprehensive careers education programme for students in Years 7–11. As part of this programme, we aim to encourage all students to learn about a wide range of careers at appropriate stages in their school journey.
At present, the school does not offer work experience as a formal school activity until Year 12. However, for students who would like to gain valuable experience and insight into the world of work, there are a range of organisations and companies that run online opportunities. As opportunities arise with reputable companies, they will be posted here.
DigData offer regular, age-appropriate opportunities for students from Year 7-13. They work with a variety of large companies to deliver virtual work experience opportunities including BT, Google, HSBC, NHS amongst others. Students would be encouraged to take part in any of the out of school activities on offer with them. All of the opportunities are free of charge to students. Students should check the website regularly as it is regularly being updated with new opportunities.
How to register
Students need to register individually to attend the sessions as it is not a school activity. Visit the website to see what is on offer and choose an event to sign up to https://digdata.online/register-now-for-our-upcoming-events/
Step 1: Student registration
Students should complete the online registration form themselves for the event chosen.
If a student is under 13, parental permission is required and a parent/guardian email address must be entered on the form.
Step 2: Confirmation email
Once registered, students will receive a follow-up email containing their Zoom joining link.
Check junk/spam folder, as the email may land there.
If the email cannot be found, it can be resent by emailing info@digdata.online
Parent/Guardian Attendance
Parents and guardians are very welcome to join the sessions using the 'Parents and Teachers' section on the website.
